Over the year and a half that I’ve been unwell I’ve had various symptoms, some worrying, some amusing that may or may not be related to hypothyroidism. And the only reason I think that is my diagnosis (after post viral fatigue, human Parvovirus B19, Glandular Fever, vitamin deficiencies and Fibromyalgia) is because the thyroid medication is working. More on that later.
So I’ve also been investigating some red spots and veins on my face recently, Telangiectasias, most people know them as spider veins. Mine appeared during my pregnancy and the doctor says are most likely due to hormonal changes. The painful irony is that the illness that affects me and limits my life with my daughter most likely began during my pregnancy with her.
The skin specialist took a very quick look at my face, possibly less than 15 seconds, and then recommended some new cleansers and moisturisers and ushered me out.
And now my eyelids are peeling. I feel ambivalent about it because at this point in time my palms are numb, I have aches in my lower back and sciatic nerve and I’ve had quite a few headaches in the last week. So, peeling eyelids, you don’t scare me!
